Lenda
Attested: Lenda, among RC's tour of harbour estuaries
Where: River Great Ouse, which now flows into the Wash beside Kings Lynn. Its modern mouth is artificial, but its Roman-era mouth might have been around TF6120.
Name Origin: There seems to be no consensus whether *lendh- ‘wetness’ is to be recognised as a distinct PIE root, but PIE *lei- ‘to flow, to pour’, plus a verbal-participle ending –nta (or similar forms), would fit Lenda.
