Attested:  RC Elconio

Where:  Somewhere in north Devon.  The best candidate is where the river Yeo and lesser streams join the river Taw at modern Barnstaple at about SS5633.

Name origin:  The closest parallel to Elconio (unless it was mangled from*Fl. Conio) is the river Olchon in Herefordshire, formerly called Elchon, which Ekwall (1928:309) explained with ελκος ‘wound, ulcer’, possibly related to the swampy rivers Ulca (now the Vuka in Croatia) and Ulcum (now the Orconté in France).
